Summer Hanson, MD, PhD, FACS

Dr. Summer E. Hanson is an Associate Professor and the Director of Research at the University of Chicago Medicine. She is a recipient of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons Academic Scholar Award (2018) and the Young Clinician Award from the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (2020). She has published numerous peer-reviewed papers and book chapters and was recently named a Plastic Surgery Foundation Visiting Professor. Dr. Hanson has been invited to lecture at numerous national and international meetings. She has served on the editorial board of numerous leading medical journals including Tissue Engineering, Parts A, B & C and the Aesthetic Surgery Journal.

David Chang, MD, FACS

Dr. David W Chang is a Professor and the Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Chicago Medicine. He is a recipient of the Godina Traveling Scholar Award (2005) and the Buncke Lectureship (2019) from the American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery (ASRM). He has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters. He has been invited to lecture at numerous national and international meetings, while serving as a visiting professor at leading institutions all over the world. He has served on the editorial board of numerous leading medical journals including Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. He has served on the Board of Directors for American Society of Plastic Surgery. He is the past President of the ASRM (2017) and the President of the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (2019-2021).
