Zhimin Shao, MD

Prof. Zhimin Shao, Distinguished Professor of Fudan University, is one of the first batch of Distinguished Professor of Chang Jiang Scholars. He presently serves as the Director of Fudan University Cancer Institute and Breast Cancer Institute; Chairman of department of surgery and department of breast surgery in Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center; honorary Chairman of Breast Cancer Society, Chinese Anti-Cancer Association; Vice Chairman of Oncology Branch Committee, Chinese Medical Association; honorary Chairman of Breast Cancer Society, Shanghai Anti-Cancer Association; Chairman of Oncology Branch Committee, Shanghai Medical Association; Chairman of the Eighth Asian Breast Cancer Society, and Member of the St. Gallen International Breast Cancer Consensus Panel.

Prof. Shao engages in clinical and basic research for breast cancer. He established an early screening and diagnosis process for the Chinese population, and carried out clinical trials to improve the prognosis of breast cancer patients. His researches mainly focus on breast cancer translational research and mechanisms of metastasis of breast cancer. He has published nearly 350 papers about breast cancer research, and over 100 of which is included by SCI and has been cited for more than 3000 times by the world’s medical literature. He also published four books about breast disease. Dr. Shao has been awarded with Prize of Science and Technology Progress of Ministry of Health, Prize of Science and Technology Progress of Shanghai Government, National Prize of Science and Technology Progress and Prize of Science and Technology Progress of Ministry of Education. He hosted and actualized in over 30 key research projects including National Excellent Youth Foundation, National Science Foundation, Key Project of National 10th 5-year Plan, Priority Project on clinical medicine of Ministry of Health, 211 Project phase II, 985 Project, 973 Project, and other provincial or ministerial projects.

Jiong Wu, MD, PhD

Prof. Jiong Wu presently serves as Vice President of Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center; Chairman Designate of Breast Cancer Society, Chinese Anti-Cancer Association; Chairman of Breast Cancer Society, Shanghai Anti-Cancer Association; Vice Chairman of Tumor Targeted Therapy Committee, Shanghai Medical Association.

Prof. Wu obtained M.D. degree from Shanghai Medical School, Fudan University (Former Shanghai Medical University) in 1998. Prof. Wu was academic visitor for breast cancer basic research at UCLA in 1998 supporting by UICC ICRETT fund. He also had an opportunity for professional development of stage I breast reconstruction at M.D. Anderson Center (Texas, Houston, USA) in 2004.

Prof. Wu engages in clinical and basic research for breast cancer. His researches mainly focus on susceptibility marker (gene, mi-RNA etc.) of breast cancer early diagnosis, prognosis and predictive of therapy response and new technology of breast surgery such as sentinel lymph node biopsy, breast reconstruction and onco-plastic surgery. He has published nearly 200 papers about breast cancer research, and over 60 of which is included by SCI acting as the first author or corresponding author. Prof. Wu has been awarded with National Prize of Science and Technology Progress, Prize of Science and Technology Progress of Shanghai Government. He has hosted and actualized in over 10 key research projects including National Natural Science Foundation, 973 Project, China-EU Collaboration Project.
